M3GAN 2.0 is currently underway, and Star Wars fans will be happy to hear that a fan-favorite is joining the cast.

Deadline reports that Ivanna Sakhno, best known for playing the role of Shin Hati in Ahsoka, has been cast in the M3GAN sequel. No details have been revealed about who Sakhno is playing, but cast members from the original movie Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are also coming back for the sequel.

Though we get slasher movies all the time, M3GAN had managed to set itself apart by being a kind of cautionary tale on AI and parents who rely too much on technology to replace actual parenting when it comes to their kids.

A lot of movie fans have managed to consder the film as a modern take on Child’s Play, which featured the original killer doll in the form of Chucky. Though the Child’s Play reboot was received poorly for giving Chucky a sci-fi origin rather than his original magic one, M3GAN was wholly embraced my movie goers—especially the gay community.

The first movie may have resulted in the M3GAN doll being destroyed, but they did tease that she was able to move her consciousness to different technology that was all over the house. Naturally, we can expect an army of M3GANs in the sequel, but I am hoping that the filmmakers manage to come up with a more unique story.

M3GAN 2.0 is set to hit theaters on May 16, 2025.

Watch: Inside the Practical Puppets of the Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie https://www.geekfeed.com/the-practical-puppets-of-five-nights-at-freddys/ Thu, 19 Oct 2023 13:05:31 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79266 The Five Nights at Freddy’s games have been spooking kids on the internet since 2014, and now Blumhouse is set to release a film adaptation of the first game starring Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard.

The film is set to release this Halloween season, and we have a new inside look at the practical puppets used for the film, all of which include Freddy and the rest of his twisted furry friends. Check this out:

Though a lot of fans would expect Freddy and his friends to be brought to life with CG, the movie had made it a point to make them practical puppets—even going so far as to hire the Jim Henson company when it came to making Freddy and the gang.

With the robots expected to look like a clunky animatronic show, it was probably best to get them to be practical. After all, they also aren’t expected to move smoothly, and it probably adds to the scare factor that they also don’t move as well.

So far, a lot of fans are excited for the film, and even non-FNAF followers are curious to know what all the hype is about when it comes to these Chuck E. Cheese ripoffs.

Here’s the official description for the film:

Can you survive five nights?

The terrifying horror game phenomenon becomes a blood-chilling cinematic event, as Blumhouse— the producer of M3GAN, The Black Phone and The Invisible Man— brings Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen.

The film follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.

Five Nights at Freddy’s the film is set to release in theaters and stream on Peacock on Oct. 27.

Cuddly Creatures Become Ghoulish Nightmares in Latest Trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s https://www.geekfeed.com/latest-trailer-for-five-nights-at-freddys/ Fri, 01 Sep 2023 02:27:20 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78506 The Halloween season is almost upon us, and Universal Pictures is set to release their adaptation of one of the cult horror games of the past decade—Five Nights at Freddy’s. Just in, we have a new trailer for the film, and it gives us a good idea of just what kind of horror show awaits fans who find themselves at Freddy’s after dark.

Watch this:

Here’s the official description:

Can you survive five nights?

The film follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.

The movie pretty much follows the premise of the video game where a newly hired security guard discovers that the place he’s been hired to watch over is being inhabited by murderous robots that were supposed to be children’s entertainment.

It was already pretty odd of a premise for the game, and it does look like everyone else who is connected to the abandoned pizza place knows that there’s definitely something wrong with the animatronics.

With the year filled with some great video game adaptations like The Last of Us and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, a lot of fans are excited to see one of the most buzzed about games of the 2010s finally get the movie treatment.

Watch out for Five Nights at Freddy’s when it hits theaters and Peacock on Oct. 27.

Demonic Possession is Back in Trailer for The Exorcist: Believer https://www.geekfeed.com/trailer-for-the-exorcist-believer-is-out/ Sun, 30 Jul 2023 08:12:47 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77987 1973’s The Exorcist is considered a classic horror film, and for decades, movies have been trying to milk the horror from the idea of getting possessed by a demon. Now 50 years after the release of the original, we have a new take on The Exorcist which will possess not one, but two poor little girls.

Watch the trailer for The Exorcist: Believer:

The story description for the film reads:

Since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago, Victor Fielding (Tony winner and Oscar® nominee Leslie Odom, Jr.; One Night in Miami, Hamilton) has raised their daughter, Angela (Lidya Jewett, Good Girls) on his own.

But when Angela and her friend Katherine (newcomer Olivia Marcum), disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it unleashes a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil and, in his terror and desperation, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed anything like it before: Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn).

Like every reboot/sequel nowadays, the film has managed to bring back an actress from the original Exorcist in the form of Ellen Burstyn. In the original, MacNeil was the mother of the possessed girl Regan (Linda Blair), and she hints that she’s met the demon in this movie before.

With exorcism-themed movies having evolved in so many ways since the original film that started the horror trend, I’m curious how The Believer is going to shake things up for the sequel. Hopefully there’s something there to terrify non-believers and not just anyone who subscribes to the notion of religious demons.

Watch out for The Exorcist: Believer when it comes to cinemas on Oct. 13.

The Night Shift Begins in New Trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie https://www.geekfeed.com/new-trailer-for-five-nights-at-freddys-movie/ Mon, 03 Jul 2023 11:28:35 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77509 Josh Hutcherson may not have been starring in any huge films since The Hunger Games, but he’s going to be coming back to the big screen this Halloween season with Universal’s adaptation of the cult Five Nights at Freddy’s game.

The movie is set to release in October, and we have a new trailer giving us a good look at the story. Check this out:

The official description reads:

Can you survive five nights?

The terrifying horror game phenomenon becomes a blood-chilling cinematic event, as Blumhouse— the producer of M3GAN, The Black Phone and The Invisible Man— brings Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen.

The film follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.

The film basically checks all the boxes when it comes to the original FNAF game, with Hutcherson playing the role of unluckiest security guard of all time, but the trailer does reveal a new element to the story in that the main character Mike has to protect his kid sister from the rest of the murder-bots that are roaming around the abandoned restaurant.

With HBO’s The Last of Us having set a new standard for video game adaptations, a lot of fans wonder how the FNAF movie is going to fare. Then again, this is a franchise about murderous Chuck E. Cheese mascot ripoffs, so we shouldn’t expect things to get too intellectual.

What we should expect are scares, killer robots, and maybe a reference to a meme or two.

Five Nights at Freddy’s comes to cinemas and starts streaming on Peacock on Oct. 27.

M3GAN 2.0 Gets 2025 Release Date https://www.geekfeed.com/m3gan-2-0-gets-2025-release-date/ Sun, 22 Jan 2023 15:42:12 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73010 Despite coming out on ‘dump month’ January, M3GAN managed to be a huge box office draw, and a lot of fans have been raving about the next stage in killer doll movies. As it turns out, Blumhouse is now ready for a sequel.

According to Variety, M3GAN 2.0 is a go, and the sequel is now set to release on Jan. 17, 2025. We don’t have any details when it comes to the story, but Akela Cooper is coming back to write the sequel, and it’s said that Allison Williams and Violet McGraw will also return to reprise their roles.

One part that hasn’t been confirmed, though, is the director. Gerard Johnstone had directed M3GAN, but a director hasn’t been confirmed for M3GAN 2.0.

Like I said, the movie came out during a dump month, but M3GAN has managed to exceed expectations and has earned close to a hundred million on its $12 million budget. Producer Jason Blum has actually said that they had such a good feeling about the project that they decided to start discussing a sequel even before the film acme out. He explains:

“After I first saw the movie, we had a good sense that a sequel might really work…  So, we broke our cardinal rule and we started talking about a sequel before the movie was released. I felt so bullish that we started entertaining a sequel earlier than we usually do.”

We don’t know what a sequel could hold, but I’m pretty excited to see what could be next.

M3GAN 2.0 is set to come out on Jan. 17, 2025. Catch M3GAN now screening in theaters.

It’s Child’s Play 2.0 in New Trailer for M3GAN https://www.geekfeed.com/its-childs-play-2-0-in-new-trailer-for-m3gan/ Fri, 09 Dec 2022 14:01:04 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72379 Syfy’s Child’s Play series may be on the verge of cancellation, but killer dolls are making a comeback to the big screen this January.

M3GAN feels like the spiritual sequel to Child’s Play, and the film just got a new trailer featuring some more scares, and of course—viral killer doll dancing. Check this out:

Here’s the official film description:

M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. Designed by brilliant toy-company roboticist Gemma (Get Out’s Allison Williams), M3GAN can listen and watch and learn as she becomes friend and teacher, playmate and protector, for the child she is bonded to.

When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw, The Haunting of Hill House), Gemma’s unsure and unprepared to be a parent. Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to resolve both problems—a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.

The movie actually puts a special twist on the killer doll cliché. Whereas the doll usually wants to murder the child in a slowly agonizing fashion, M3GAN wants to protect the child she’s bonded to—but that doesn’t bode well for anyone who gets in Cady’s way—not even her guardian aunt.

Though the movie is set to come out in dump month January, the release has actually been pushed forward by a week, which could mean some kind of faith from the studio.

Catch M3GAN when it comes to cinemas on Jan. 6, 2023.
