Just in, they’ve released the first teaser for Paddington 3  a.k.a. Paddington in Peru. Check this out:

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru.

This will be the first Paddington movie that will not have Paul King at the helm. Instead, directing duties have been handed over to Dougal Wilson—who looks to be directing his first feature film with this movie.

Admittedly, there’s a lot of skepticism surrounding the Paddington 3 with Paul King not at the helm, but hopefully enough goodwill from the reputation of Paddington 2 is enough to push audiences to check out this movie when it hits theaters.

Besides Ben Wishaw returning as Paddington (I swear he was supposed to be voiced by Colin Firth), the movie has also brought in a cast which includes Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Imedla Staunton, Emily Mortimer, and Jim Broadbent.

I am also kind of hoping for an appearance from Timothee Chalamet’s Wonka, but I guess that would be a stretch since somebody else holds the rights to that character. Fingers crossed Wilson manages to live up to the standard set by King.

Paddington 3 is set to release in theaters on Jan. 17, 2025.
