Poison Ivy had been a prominent figure in Rocksteady’s Arkham series, and the character was eventually killed off in Arkham Knight. With the upcoming Suicide Squad game though, it’s been revealed that Ivy has actually returned—or rather, her offspring.

In a recently released episode of Suicide Squad Insider, it’s revealed that Poison Ivy had somehow resurrected into a tween that’s being experimented on by Lex Luthor. Watch this (Ivy comes in at 8:44):

For context, this is what happened to Ivy in Arkham Knight:

Though we never really got to see Harley and Ivy’s romance play out in any of the games, it’s still implied that the characters have history in Suicide Squad. Though Ivy may not remember Harley in this continuity, her pheromones can ‘remember’ her. We don’t know how the game eventually wants to tug on that relationship, but introducing a young Ivy is definitely stirring the pot with some fans.

As far as the game goes, Poison Ivy will be essential to a new gameplay mechanic which will allow her and her plants to dish out status effects that are inspired by other DC villains unto unsuspecting enemies. On the other hand, it’s also been revealed that Penguin will be the one supplying the Squad with weapons and has been delegated to this game’s version of a crafting station.

Admittedly, Suicide Squad has been so delayed that fans are starting to lose interest in the game, but hopefully Rocksteady manages to knock it out of the park when it finally releases next year.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to launch on Feb. 2, 2024 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.

Watch New Story and Gameplay Overview for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League https://www.geekfeed.com/suicide-squad-kill-the-justice-league-overview/ Fri, 17 Nov 2023 16:59:53 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79703 Rocksteady is the studio behind the highly applauded Arkham games, and a lot of DC fans had been waiting for the release of their next title Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League since it was announced in 2020.

The game has received multiple delays since then, and is now looking to come out in 2024. Now we have a new story and gameplay overview that gives us a good look at the start of the game as well as some of the game mechanics. Watch this:

Join members of the development team at Rocksteady for a deep dive into the story and gameplay of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, including a look at the Squad’s traversal mechanics and the world of Metropolis from this upcoming third-person action shooter game.

We’ve known all about the core team of Harley, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang for a while, but the overview gives us a great look at the story—specifically what happened with Metropolis and how the Squad ended up going there.

We get to watch the team ransack the Hall of Justice, and this is how they gain their gear to help them move around the open world of the city.

The overview also gives us a look at the Justice League who have all been put under the control of Brainiac. Though it looked like the Flash was going to be a villain since the beginning, the trailer does reveal that he somehow escaped the first wave of possessions and we get to see him clash with Green Lantern before he got possessed too.

Admittedly, the game has been delayed so many times that fans have started to become cynical about its release. It also doesn’t help that rumors are going around that the game will be more multiplayer focused as compared to the singe-player narratives that were the Arkham games.

Hopefully we get to see more of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League soon. With a release set for February, it would make sense for the studio to try their best to keep everyone excited.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to release for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Feb. 2, 2024.

The Flash Must Die in New Gameplay Trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-must-die-in-new-gameplay-trailer-for-suicide-squad-kill-the-justice-league/ Tue, 14 Dec 2021 10:53:35 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=62888 It’s been six years since the release of Arkham Knight, and fans have been waiting for Rocksteady’s next entry to the DC Universe—Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. We’ve cinematic trailers for a while, but the Game Awards has finally brought to us a look at the gameplay.

Check this out:

As confirmed by the trailer, players will be able to take control of four squad members, and each will have their own unique fighting style and means of travelling the map. Captain Boomerang will be able to throw teleport arrows, with Deadshot being able to fly around with a jetpack; King Shark can climb walls, and Harley can swing around like Spider-Man.

Speaking of Harley, we can see her swinging from what looks to be a Bat-drone, so the trailer is possibly confirming that Batman is still alive in this universe, and may be on the side of the Squad. Then again, it’s possible that Batman could have also been corrupted, but his arsenal is in control of other Bat-fam members like Oracle or Alfred.

So far, the game looks like a completely different tone from the Arkham series, but will it be able to break barriers like previous Rocksteady entries did. With everyone eagerly anticipating the return of Rocksteady, the pressure is on for Suicide Squad to deliver.

The Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set for a release sometime in 2022 for the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
