Just in, Echo has dropped a new teaser, and it has Maya taking on Daredevil in an all-new costume. Check this out:

Charlie Cox made his MCU debut in Spider-Man: Now Way Home as Matt Murdock, but he had a more major appearance as Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law; and we saw him donning the original yellow/red colors.

We don’t know exactly what would bring Daredevil clashing with Maya in Echo, but it would definitely have something to do with her relationship to the Kingpin, who has undoubtedly been overbearing with all of the promotion for the series.

With Disney dropping all the episodes at once, I have a feeling that they don’t have that much faith in the show. But then again, I think they immediately want fans onboard with appearances from both fan favorites. With Daredevil: Born Again redoing everything from the ground-up, Echo will be the closest thing fans will have to a Daredevil revival for a while.

I’m just hoping that Maya herself gets the spotlight that she deserves in her own show. I wouldn’t want them to pull a Book of Boba Fett and have two episodes just focusing on Kingpin and DD and not Maya. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

All episodes of Echo start streaming on Disney+ on Jan. 9.

Kingpin is Vicious in First Trailer for Echo https://www.geekfeed.com/kingpin-is-vicious-in-first-trailer-for-echo/ Wed, 08 Nov 2023 06:38:52 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79507 Everyone seems to rave about Kate Bishop in the Hawkeye series, but that show also gave us a great character in the form of Maya Lopez a.k.a. Echo played by Alaqua Cox. Echo is set to get her own series on Disney+ next year, and Marvel Studios has just dropped a new trailer featuring Vincent D’Onofrio as her uncle Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin.

Watch this:

With Maya outright shooting Fisk in the face during the Hawkeye finale, it looks like the show is going to be delving more into the history and current state of their relationship. It does seem that Maya had to be around violence when she was close to Fisk, but after her rejection of him in the Hawkeye show, he could be wanting her back.

A lot of fans seem to be upset that Maya doesn’t really have any powers when it comes to her comic counterpart, but some are reading the show to mean that ‘Echo’ means that she herself has become like an imitation of her uncle, and it will be Maya’s arc to try and break that cycle and come to her own as a person.

With Daredevil: Born Again going back to square one, Echo will have to be the closest thing we have to it for now. It does feel a lot like the original Netflix Daredevil, and though he does seem bigger in this show, Kingpin is no less brutal.

I’m just hoping they manage to shine a light on how much of an expert gangster he is as well besides him solely relying on violence to get his way.

Catch all episodes of Echo when it releases on Disney+ on Jan. 10, 2024.

Daredevil Allegedly Appearing in Echo Series with New Costume https://www.geekfeed.com/daredevil-allegedly-in-echo-series-with-new-suit/ Fri, 08 Jul 2022 16:55:10 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=69949 Charlie Cox may have appeared for a short cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but it’s still unclear when Marvel really plans to bring his Matt Murdock back to the spotlight. As per a new rumor though, we could be seeing him in the Echo starring Alaqua Cox.

According to The Weekly Planet (via The Direct), Daredevil is said to be returning for three episodes of Echo, and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin will be back in the series as well. Here’s the quote:

“Yep, Daredevil is in it for three episodes, as in Charlie Cox. Kingpin, Vinnie D’Onofrio is in four. The Kingpin storyline is building up to him running for mayor of New York City. Apparently, he’s going to be wearing an eye patch because he was shot in the head in Hawkeye… Daredevil is also going to be rocking a red and black suit and is looking for Jessica Jones.”

Again, this is just a rumor for now, but it certainly does track with all the other buzz about Disney working on bringing Daredevil back as well as Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. With Echo being a handicapped hero, it would make sense for Daredevil to act like some sort of mentor, and he would have a personal stake with her, seeing that his nemesis, Wilson Fisk, is her uncle.

I’ll admit, Kingpin’s MCU return was kind of underwhelming, but there’s some huge potential for him to really get reinvented with the Echo series.

No specific release date has been announced for Echo, but you can catch her debut in Hawkeye which is now available on Disney+.

Will the Echo Series Feature Daredevil and Kingpin? https://www.geekfeed.com/will-the-echo-series-feature-daredevil-and-kingpin/ Thu, 07 Apr 2022 12:51:36 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64763 Maya Lopez may have been a secondary character in Hawkeye but Disney is set to give her a solo series in the form of Echo. So far we only know that Alaqua Cox is returning, but word is going around that we could see some fan favorites from Marvel Netflix show Daredevil.

As per The Direct, this information comes via the resume of costume designer Stacy Caballero. Caballero had listed down some productions where she worked at, and under the entry for Echo, the cast was listed: Alaqua Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Charlie Cox.

Caballero was said to have made her Instagram private and has removed any mention of Echo in her resume, but the buzz is already going around that the Kingpin of Crime and the Man without Fear could be showing up in Echo.

If you think about it, an appearance from both Wilson Fisk and Matt Murdock could make a lot of sense. With Fisk clashing with Maya at the end of Hawkeye, it’s very likely they could see each other again in Echo—as they are “family”. As for Daredevil, I would imagine his involvement mainly concerns Kingpin, but seeing that he shares a common trait with Maya as they are both handicapped heroes, maybe there’s a chance for Matt Murdock to be a new kind of mentor.

After his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, I would imagine that Matt would want to get Maya out of trouble, especially since she’s related to the Kingpin. Let’s not forget she was also actively running the gang that was going after Hawkeye, so she’s not an innocent bystander.

Then again, this is all just speculation based on a rumor. Until we get an official update, all we can really do is wait.

No release date has been set for Echo, but you can catch Maya Lopez on Hawkeye now streaming on Disney+.
