With Dune: Part Two leading all of the internet hype since last weekend, now is the perfect time for Funcom to give us another look at their upcoming open-world game, Dune: Awakening.

Dune: Awakening combines the grit and creativity of sandbox survival games with the social interactivity of a large, persistent multiplayer game to create a unique and ambitious Open World Survival MMO.
It’s unclear if the game is going to have an overarching story, but we do get to see that some houses from the film are also going to make their appearance in the game, what with the symbol for House Atreides.
Besides that, it does look like the game is going to focus on allowing players to build their own house and find their own kind of harmony with the desert. Maybe you can even form alliances with existing houses besides the Atreides. Who wouldn’t want to have access to the Imperium’s resources?
With all the hype surrounding the release of the Dune sequel, it definitely isn’t a surprise that Awakening would want to ride on that excitement. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long until the release.
No release date has been set for Dune: Awakening, but fans are hopeful that it will launch sometime later this year.
