It’s no denying that Timothee Chalamet is one of the biggest stars right now, with films like Wonka and Dune cementing him as a sweetheart of the 2020s. What’s funny is, a bunch of New Yorkers had decided to hold a Timothee Chalamet Lookalike Competition at the Washington Square Park, and guess who showed up.
“Hey man, what’s up?” said @RealChalamet as he draped his arm over a contestant at the viral “Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition” held in Washington Square Park on Sunday.

That’s right, Chalamet himself showed up at the competition to have fun with some of his fans. It doesn’t look like he stayed for the judging, but he did take some pictures with some of the lookalikes who showed up. He was then whisked away by his security.
Apparently, the event was planned by one Anthony Po on Twitter, and he had come up with the idea three months ago. Though a lot of people from NY thought it was a pretty memorable day, Po was hit with a fine for holding an unpermitted event in the park.

Here’s a look at some of the contestants who entered the contest. There didn’t seem to be any formal judges, and the winner seemed to be based on the audience reaction.

Ultimately, the gay who went home with the prize was someone who dressed like Chalamet as Wonka. There were some who attempted to do a casual suit-up, but there was also a Bob Dylan Chalamet, a lazy Paul Atreides Chalamet, and a Call Me By Your Name Chalamet.

For now, the actual Timothee Chalamet’s next movie, A Complete Unknown is set to release in theatres this Christmas.
