Superman: Legacy has Found Its Clark Kent and Lois Lane

After months of mourning the loss of Henry Cavill’s Superman and several fancastings, it looks like James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy has found its leads.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that after a very long search, Superman: Legacy has cast David Corenswet (Pearl) and Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane respectively. We don’t have any official looks at the two yet, but Corenswet and Brosnahan were said to have beat out a short list which included Nicholas Hoult, Tom Brittney, Emma Mackey, and Phoebe Dynevor.

Admittedly, this will be Corensweats’ major break when it comes to his career, but Brosnahan, on the other hand, has already proven her mettle in the television side of entertainment, having won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Mrs. Maisel.

We don’t know what how Gunn wants to interpret the famous comic book couple, but some believe that Lois Lane would be the source of more humor in the film now; unlike previous versions where her entire journalistic career is centered around how closely she worked with Superman.

With Superman and Lois cast, we should expect to hear about other supporting characters soon. We have yet to find a Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and Lex Luthor. And even though Nicholas Hoult may not have landed the role, some have been saying that he is being considered for the part of this film’s Lex Luthor.

Superman: Legacy is expected to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
