Suicide Squad: KTJL Gives First Look at Elseworlds and Playable Joker

Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to come out in a few weeks, but a lot of buzz surrounding the game has not gotten the players hyped up to say the least. Now it looks like the developers are pulling out the big guns with the latest reveals, showcasing an Elseworlds/Multiverse concept as well as a new playable character.

Check this out:

The Elseworlds and Joker showcase start around the 7:00 minute mark (plus the reveal of Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter) as the voice of Brainiac.

In-universe, the explanation for the Elseworlds is that Brainiac is behind it, trying to replicate his own contained multiverse—a slight tweak of his original comic scheme where he shrinks cities and planets and keeps them in a personal collection.

As for Joker, it’s confirmed that the Joker in this game’s timeline is already dead, but this one is brought to the continuity via multiverse shenanigans, and he has experience being recruited in his universe’s version of Task Force X.

Besides Joker, the developers have also promised that they will be introducing other playable characters in the game—which will all likely be villains. I know that a lot of fans are already thinking about their favorite DC rogues that could be playable, but I do have a soft spot for Pola-Dot Man who was actually taken seriously in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

Watch out for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League when it launches on Feb. 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
