Kevin Conroy had reprised the role of the Dark Knight in the Arkham games, and though he may be gone, he does have one more Batman performance that we have yet to see.
Thanks to The Game Awards, we have our first look at Batman in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and the clip pretty much sends Conroy off. Watch this:
With the Arkham games being pretty ambiguous when it comes to the fate of Batman, this could be confirmation that Kill the Justice League happens in its own separate timeline. I guess you can’t really expect one of pop-culture’s most popular superheroes to stay dead especially when he immediately makes things a hundred percent more interesting.
I don’t really know what kind of tone Suicide Squad is going for, but I can imagine that it’s going to embrace the B-level violence of the James Gunn movie, especially since they just cut off the Flash’s finger for a small gag. Besides, if the title of the game has ‘Kill the Justice League’ in it, I’m expecting them to actually waste the entire Justice League one by one in elaborate boss battles.
While the Arkham games tend to be very serious with their take, I would love if Suicide Squad just embraced the silly fun that the brand promises.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to release for PC, PlayStaton 5, and Xbox Series X|S on May 26, 2023.
