The latest season of Stranger Things had given Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) a closeted gay arc, and fans had already suspected that Will was gay from the earlier seasons. What’s interesting is, Schnapp had decided to recently come out of the closet as gay himself.
He posts on his TikTok who he had finally come out to his friends and family as gay with them replying, ‘We know.’ Here’s the post:
@noahschnappI guess I’m more similar to will than I thought♬ original sound – princessazula0
Schnapp had also captioned the clip, “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.”
Ever since the announcement, Schnapp had received a lot of support online, and a lot of fans have actually been reacting like his family, saying they were expecting it the whole time. Some were even joking that he plays Will Byers so well in the show because he himself was a closeted gay, but that’s probably just a coincidence.

Going back to the series though, it seems that Will Byers will once again be found in the spotlight of the final season focused on the finding of Will after he goes missing, it’s probably fitting that the show should end with Will confronting the monsters from the Upside Down.
I’ll admit, this is starting to look like the show is going to end with Will eventually dying, but I hope that the Duffer Brothers manage to get to a conclusion that’s a bit more hopeful and a lot less predictable.
The fifth season of Stranger Things premieres on Netflix sometime in 2024.
