It’s going to be a while before we get the next season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, but Daedalic Entertainment has been teasing their unique LOTR spinoff game centered on Gollum. The game is set to release next year, and we have a new story trailer showcasing Gollum as well as some other familiar faces from the world of J.R.R. Tolkien. Check this out:
Here’s the official description:
Discover Daedalic’s untold story through a trailer featuring Gollum’s extraordinary adventure in search of his Precious. This original story will take you to several places through Middle-earth where you’ll meet well-known characters from the books of J.R.R. Tolkien.
The trailer gives us a look at Gandalf and Thranduil, the ruler of Mirkwood. We also get to see some familiar faces from the side of Mordor including a Ringwraith and who I’m assuming is the Mouth of Sauron. Even Sauron’s tower gets its own unique spin in this game.
What I wasn’t expecting was this new elf character that seems to have befriended Gollum. With character pretty much wrestling with his own morality in the original trilogy, I have a feeling this new lady elf is going to help bring out the Smeagol in the corrupted form that is Gollum.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has no specific release date yet, but it’s expected to come out in 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, and PC.
