While Marc Guggenheim and Katie Cassidy were busy teasing surprises for Arrow’s 100th episode, Stephen Amell was planning a tease of his own. Following the confirmation of Deathstroke as the Batman film’s villain, Amell stated it doesn’t rule out the Arrowverse’s Slade Wilson. Now we know why he spoke so confidently.
The actor took to Twitter, posting the following image without a caption.
That’s right ladies and gentleman, before you casually sits Stephen Amell and Deathstroke on a park bench. A lovely sight, really. Previously, the actor posted an image of him standing alongside someone. Their image was tagged with a question mark, covered in green… perhaps more allusions of his desire to play The Riddler. The mystery photo was captioned with “Episode 100” and fans were speculating away at who it could be. Now we know that person is most definitely Manu Bennett.
Why are all these characters hopping aboard the 100th episode train? Commemorative reasons, surely, but what else does the show have up its leather-clad sleeves? And is there more to come? This episode in particular will mark the eight in Season 5, which coincides with the four-night crossover. With Caity Lotz confirmed to appear, it’s likely the rest of the Legends will show up, as well. Maybe time-travel will explain a few things. Whatever it is, it’ll be great to have the old gang back together. Deathstroke, Oliver, and Sara haven’t been together since Season 2. Their reunion is sure to be special, in a cutthroat and violent sort of way. Here’s to hoping another badass fight scene with those three is in the cards.
Plenty has been teased for the crossovers, but very few facts are known. Seeing how it all comes together is going to be exciting. Let us know your thoughts and theories in the comments below.
Arrow returns Wednesday, October 5.
