Elemental may not be making Across the Spider-Verse numbers in the box office, but it’s still a charming movie from Pixar and great for anyone who doesn’t want to watch a movie about superheroes. One of the centerpieces of the film is the budding romance between Ember and Wade, with the scenes playing to Steal the Show from Lauv, and Disney has decided to officially release the MV complete with the date montage from the film.
Watch this:
Though Pixar is known to tell stories that are mostly family-friendly action-adventures, it’s kind of refreshing how Elemental really leans in on the romantic-comedy genre, and we have a fantastic pair of leads with Ember and Wade.
Some critics may consider the movie to be Pixar’s version of Zootopia, but watching the film, you could say that Elemental has its very own unique take on the immigrant story and interracial relationships; unlike Zootopia which had a more general message about race relations.
Overall, Elemental was a solid film, and a nice break from all the huge films currently in theaters including Indiana Jones, Transformers, and The Flash.
Here’s the official description for the film:
Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental,” an all-new, original feature film set in Element City, is where fire-, water-, land- and air-residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.
