Very few Disney+ Star Wars series manage to break the mould when it comes to nostalgia-baiting, but one show that managed to feel very original was the animated anthology series Star Wars Visions.
The first season had been delivered by several anime studios, while the second one gathered animators from all over the world. Now a third season is incoming and it looks like they’re bringing back the anime studios. Check out the official announcement:

Some returning studios from the first season include Kamikaze Douga, Trigger, Kinema Citrus Co., and Production IG. New studios that will be taking part with Vol. 3 include Wit Studio, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q, and David Production.
It’s kind of a shame that Science SARU couldn’t join in on Visions 3, but I guess they’re pretty busy with their new hit Dandadan.
We don’t know what to expect with the third Volume exactly, but if previous seasons were to be followed, we should be getting another anthology of non-canon stories set in world of Star Wars—or something close to it.
I was honestly hoping for some sequels to other episodes—like Lop and Ocho—but so far every episode in Visions has been able to stand by itself without the need for any sequels or prequels.
Besides Andor, Visions is one of the Star Wars properties that really feels like it put creativity ahead of nostalgia. Though I did like the idea of gathering studios from all over the world to contribute, I also thought that going back to anime would bring back that very distinct flavor the first season had.
Expect Star Wars Visions Vol. 3 to come to Disney+ sometime in 2025.
