Star Wars: Is Jar Jar Binks Making a Comeback Soon?

Star Wars fans know Ahmed Best for providing the performance for Jar Jar Binks in The Phantom Menace, but Best has also been given a live-action role as Jedi master Kelleran Beq in the last season of The Mandalorian.

We don’t know if master Beq is making a comeback anytime soon, but a lot of fans are speculating that Best could be playing everyone’s favourite Gungan again. In a recent post from Best, he’s revealed that he’s doing some motion caption work. Check this out:

While people immediately thought that this was for a Jar Jar return, Best also included the mention of Beq in his caption. What’s more, the hashtag for Activision also led others to believe that this could be for a game rather than an actual movie or television series.

It’s unclear what the fate of Beq was, but in canon, Jar Jar become a homeless street performer on Naboo; as he had been banished for being the one to suggest giving emergency powers to Palpatine—eventually leading to the rise of the Empire.

Though there is a lot of flak being thrown at Jar Jar (and Best personally), some do feel  that Jar Jar’s canon fate is too depressing for a character that was meant to entertain children. I personally would love it if they gave him a comeback—and maybe a reunion with old Ben Kenobi should his show get a second season.

Hopefully we get a reveal for what Best is working on soon. In the meantime, you can catch him on Mandalorian now streaming on Disney+.
