Lucasfilm may have stumbled with Solo: A Star Wars Story last year, but the studio plans to make up for it with a fantastic lineup for 2019. Besides Star Wars Episode IX, we’re also getting Star Wars: The Mandalorian for Disney+. Though we don’t have any official promos for both shows yet, we do have news that they’ve finished with production.
This announcement comes from J.J. Abrams on Twitter, who posted a photo of Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac in costume:
It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX. There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all. pic.twitter.com/138AprtFuZ

We don’t have any idea as for what kind of story the film will give us, but we do know that Rey will have an alternate hairstyle from the last film, and Finn will grow his hair out as well.
As for The Mandalorian, Superhero News reports that members of the crew have been confirming online that production has ended, but had then started to delete posts—most likely because Lucasfilm wants to make the announcement official. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long to know that Mandalorian is finally done. A lot of hype is building up for the first-ever live-action Star Wars series.
While fans are eager to get our first teasers out sometime this month, I think it’s very likely that Lucasfilm is holding out until Star Wars Celebration takes place in April. Admittedly the wait has been excruciating, and I just want someone to confirm what movies are coming out after Episode IX. Will Solo 2 happen? When can we expect Rian Johnson’s trilogy?
Star Wars: The Mandalorian is set to come out later this year. Star Wars Episode IX hits theaters Dec. 20.
