Star Wars Black Series Reveals George Lucas Stormtrooper Figure

George Lucas may have sold off the rights of Star Wars back in 2012, but that doesn’t mean he’s any less connected to the franchise. Just in, Hasbro has revealed their upcoming George Lucas stormtrooper figure that they’re aiming to release sometime in 2022.

Check out the official photos:

Sr. director of product design at Hasbro Vickie Stratford told SW.com:

“As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I have both the honor and privilege to bring characters from the franchise to life in product form every single day… When the opportunity came to design the George Lucas figure, we were especially excited for this project. This figure is just one of the many ways we can honor his legacy for years to come and we hope fans cherish it as much as we did!”

While I personally would have loved a figure of Lucas in his flannel shirt, a stromtrooper does seem fitting for Lucas’ legacy in plastic. We’ve had figures of the Star Wars director as an X-Wing pilot before, and we also got his character from Revenge of the Sith, Baron Papanoida. This is the first time we get to see Lucas in the 6-inch Black Series scale though.

Pre-orders start for the figure today, and you can watch out for the official wide release sometime in 2022.

The next big Star Wars property that everyone is waiting for, The Book of Boba Fett, is set to come to Disney+ sometime around the holiday season.
