After a small debut in The Mandalorian, Rosario Dawson is set to star in her own Ahsoka series for Disney+. The show is planning on introducing more characters in live-action, and news has it that a familiar face from Rebels will also be making their live-action debut.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Lucasfilm is currently looking for an actress to play Sabine Wren besides Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano. The last we saw of Sabine, she had embarked on a journey with Ahsoka to look for Ezra, who had blasted away into space in an attempt to defeat Grand Admiral Thrawn.
We don’t know what the arc of the characters is going to be, but based on her appearance in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka is out to find Thrawn—possibly for a chance to find Ezra as well.
With Bo-Katan making a jump from animation to live-action, it’s going to be interesting to see what Lucasfilm does with Sabine’s character. In Rebels, she is also Mandalorian royalty and was also able to wield the Darksaber for a time. Maybe the series could give us some context on how the Mandalorians lost the Darksaber to Moff Gideon? Either way, I’m excited to see how the live-action side of things will try to bring life to Sabine’s colorful, punk character. Does she still color her hair? How old would she be in the timeline at this point?
No release date has been set for Ahsoka, but The Book of Boba Fett is set to debut on Disney+ sometime later in the winter season. You can catch Dawson’s Ahsoka in the second season of The Mandalorian now streaming.
