Spider-Man: Far from Home is currently shooting in London, and it’s been confirmed for a while that Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson will be reprising their roles as Maria Hill and Nick Fury (respectively). A new set video shows the actors in character, and a set photo also confirms the involvement of Iron Man alum Jon Favreau.

A lot of speculation has been going around that Tony Stark will die in Avengers 4, and it would make sense that SHIELD would swoop in and try to mentor Spider-Man. Then again, I would prefer it if SHIELD was just after Mysterio and they just run into Spidey who’s after the same person. It would feel to redundant if Spider-Man had a ‘babysitter’ for each of his films.
Speaking of babysitters, Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan) has also been spotted in set photos for the movie. If you remember Homecoming, Spidey had to report his progress to Happy instead of Tony, and you could even say that Happy was in the film more than Stark was.

Happy’s involvement confirms his fate after Avengers 4, but it still leaves Tony Stark’s fate up in the air. If you ask me, Tony deserves to live out his happy ending instead of having to die just to have Robert Downey Jr. exit the franchise.
Is Tony dead come Spider-Man: Far from Home? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
