Though we should expect COVID-19 to still be around for a good chunk of 2021, the vaccine for the virus has already started rolling out, and people have already been receiving it in parts of the UK. One such recipient of the vaccine is Sir Ian McKellen, and he’s ecstatic that he’s finally able to vaccinate himself, and urges others to do so as well.
Watch McKellen receive the vaccine here:
"I'm a bit euphoric, actually."
Legendary actor Sir Ian McKellen received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine amid the UK's rollout program. "I am feeling…everything that I haven't been really feeling for a long time now," McKellen said. https://t.co/UGA2OblkmS pic.twitter.com/H0gkaOpmhK

McKellen is currently 81-years-old, so you could say that he’s part of the high-risk demographic when it comes to the virus. McKellen said after taking the vaccine:
“I would encourage everybody to do the sensible thing, not just for themselves but for everybody else because if you’re virus-free that helps everybody else, doesn’t it?”
Though fans are happy that McKellen is safe from the virus, there is a clip of him going around from X-Men: The Last Stand where Magneto is stabbed with the mutant cure unwittingly. Check it out:
Though the pandemic has kept everyone months into lockdown, it is amazing that a vaccine got developed so quickly. Admittedly, this info is what some people are using to fuel their conspiracy theories about COVID-19, but there is just so much evidence going around that the pandemic is real, and it’s affecting everybody. Even if it was a conspiracy, don’t you think any decent human being wouldn want to do something as simple as wear a mask just to make sure others feel safe?
I guess not.
Hopefully everyone else follows the great example of Gandalf the Grey.
