Shrek 5 Cast Announcement Reveals Updated Character Models and Shrek’s Grown-Up Daughter

The last time fans saw Shrek on the big screen was back in 2010 when Shrek had to come to terms with his mid-life crisis, and after the tease from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Shrek, Donkey, and the rest of the family are set to make a comeback with Shrek 5.

Just in, a cast announcement has been made, and it reveals Shrek and Fiona’s grown-up daughter voiced by Zendaya. Check this out:

The film also comes with the tagline: Far Far Away’s Finest are coming.

Besides Zendaya, the movie has also managed to bring back original cast members Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy.

If you’re updated with your Shrek lore, you’ll know that Shrek and Fiona had three kids—Fergus, Farkle, and Felicia; it’s possible that Zendaya is playing the part of Felicia. The other two kids don’t make an appearance in the teaser, but it’s possible that they could also be played by some of today’s high-profile actors.

What are the odds they’re going to be Tom Holland and Timothee Chalamet?

With the last Puss in Boots embracing a whole new look, it does seem like Shrek 5 is also dropping the more realistic aesthetic for something more animated. With Shrek being the internet monolith that it is, a lot of fans immediately noticed that something was different with the teasers model; and while some think this has ruined the look, there are some who admit that it makes DreamWorks’ iconic ogre way more expressive than he’s been before.

Catch Shrek 5 in theaters Christmas 2026.
