The second season of The Mandalorian had started introducing live-action iterations of animated characters like Bo Katan (Katee Sackhoff) and Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson), and with the upcoming Ahsoka series, one Rebels character has been confirmed to appear, and Lucasfilm has found someone to play her live-action counterpart. Sabine Wren has finally been cast in Ahsoka.
As reported by Deadline, Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny) will be playing the Ghost crew’s resident Mandalorian royalty. Bordizzo will be joining a cast which includes Dawson, as well as Hayden Christensen who will be reprising the role of Anakin Skywalker—either as a Force ghost or Anakin in Clone Wars flashbacks.

No details have been revealed about Sabine’s role in Ahsoka, but the last we saw her, she was off with Ahsoka in search of Ezra who had blasted himself off with Grand Admiral Thrawn. We know that Ahsoka was searching for Thrawn in The Mandalorian, but I’m expecting Sabine to be more focused on finding her lost friend.
In Rebels, Sabine’s character is the ‘punk girl’ of the show. Despite being a capable Mandalorian warrior, she also colors her hair and does graffiti on walls and on ships. We don’t know how she can be changed for the show, but I expect a little bit of her ‘punk flair’ to show up—even if the character is a bit older.
No release date has been set for Ahsoka yet, but fans are expecting the show to release on Disney+ sometime in 2022. In the meantime, fans are waiting on The Book of Boba Fett which has a release date set for Dec. 29.
