Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were in the middle of shooting Deadpool 3 when the SAG-AFTRA Strike hit last year, and the movie had to be indefinitely delayed while a new deal was being made. Production had recently begun again, and now Reynolds has announced a production wrap.
Here’s his official post for Deadpool 3:
The suit hides the blood. Also sweat… But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it's mostly tears. A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes and @RealHughJackman… all under the stalwart leadership of @ShawnLevyDirect

It’s not clear whether it was intentional or not, but the post definitely harkens back to a gag from the first film where Deadpool wears red so people can’t see him bleed:
With this movie being a third of a trilogy, a lot of fans think that this could mean the end of something, but everyone is still expecting Ryan Reynolds to stick around and crossover with some other MCU heroes before officially leaving the part. A lot of people are hoping for a Spider-Man team-up with Tom Holland at some point, but we don’t know if Sony would be ballsy enough to release a Spidey film that isn’t multiverse-centric anymore.
As for the Deadpool continuity, some think this will be Marvel’s way of officially sending off the 20th Century Fox timeline. After all the flak that Dark Phoenix received, it would be great if the film managed put an official close to the Marvel timeline that came before.
We don’t know when we’ll get our first look at the movie, but with production wrapped, fingers crossed we get something next month.
Watch out for Deadpool 3 when it comes to cinemas on July 26.
