Dune Part Two may have been delayed to next year, but Timothee Chalamet is set to grace screens this Christmas season with the prequel to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Wonka is set to release on December 15, and we have a new trailer that showcases all the fun and whimsy we can expect from the film. Watch this:
The official description reads:
Based on the extraordinary character at the center of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, “Wonka” tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.
The first teaser had already shown us just how fantastical the film is going to be, but this latest trailer definitely ups the ante, and we can see all kinds of weird inventions that Willy Wonka comes up with, as well as all the different kinds of chocolates he can make.
The world around him isn’t any less cartoonish either, from the Chocolate Mafia who run the candy district to the silliness of the Oompa Loompas who look like they’re all going to be played by Hugh Grant. W
With Netflix recently releasing their Roald Dahl shorts directed by Wes Anderson, the film should be a fun return to the colorful world of the children’s author. We shouldn’t expect less from the guy who directed the highly-acclaimed Paddington movies.
Watch out for Wonka when the film comes to theaters on Dec. 15.
