It was already 2 years ago when Wednesday took the world by storm, and now Netflix is gearing up for the second season. Just in, it’s been announced that production has already began, and we get a look at some of the cast and crew.
Check this out:
Wednesday Season 2 is NOW IN PRODUCTION 🖤 Please give a round of double snaps to our cast — now including Christopher Lloyd, Steve Buscemi, Thandiwe Newton, Joanna Lumley, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Billie Piper! pic.twitter.com/v6nX6eLPP8

Besides a look at the cast and crew, the post also confirms all the new incoming cast members which include Joana Lumley (Corpse Bride), Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire), Billie Piper (Doctor Who), and Heather Matarazzo (The Princess Diaries).
Probably the biggest guest star they’re getting this season—in terms of his history with The Addams Family franchise—is Christopher Lloyd. Lloyd had played the original Uncle Fester in the live-action Addams movies, but it’s unclear who he’ll be this time for Wednesday.
In the first season, the Addams alum that they added to the cast was Christina Ricci—the OG big screen Wednesday Addams.
With the first season being a murder/mystery with some romance, we should expect more of the same when it comes to the sequel. Though I doubt we’re going to get another thing as viral as the ‘Wednesday Dance’, I’m sure fans will still love the dry delivery and grim humor that the show embraces.
No release date has been set for the second season of Wednesday, but with production starting now, we could get an early 2025 release. For now, you can catch the first season now streaming on Netflix.
