The Predator franchise may not have been able to come back to the big screen, but they’ve been able to make more experimental swings thanks to Hulu.
With Prey coming out back in 2022, director Dan Trachtenberg is delivering another Predator movie which will be an anthology that focuses on Predators taking on human warriors from random points in history. Take a look at Predator: Killer of Killers:
The description reads:
“Killer of Killers is an anthology story following three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. While all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent — the ultimate killer of killers.”
So far the animation looks fantastic, and a lot of fans are loving the more stylized look of the Predators. The art style also borrows heavily from Into the Spider-Verse and Arcane—which is admittedly the new standard when it comes to animated properties.
As a fan of Prey, I was wondering where they could take the franchise next, and while I would’ve loved to see Amber Midthunder again, this looks like an interesting trip that may invite more people to check out Predator for the first time.
Catch Predator: Killer of Killers when it premieres on Hulu on June 6.
