Updates have been slow and steady for James Gunn’s Superman reboot, and we already have the lead roles in the form of Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) and David Corenswet (Clark Kent). The Superman: Legacy movie is probably deep in pre-production right now, and though it could be a while before we see anyone in costume, some alleged concept art has leaked online of the new look for the Man of Steel.

Take note, nothing official has been confirmed about the look for Legacy, but it definitely feels like it could be the costume that Gunn could go for. Though a lot of the elements look signature to the traditional appearance of Superman, the colors of the shield have been reversed to have a yellow ‘S’ on a red background—a design choice from Superman variant Calvin Ellis, who was said to be inspired by Barack Obama.
Besides Superman, the art also features other heroes like Hawkgirl and Mister Terrific. We don’t exactly know what kind of role they could have in DC, but it is said that Gunn is going to be putting his Superman in a world where other heroes already exist. I wouldn’t be surprised if this new up-and-coming Superman will have to be trained by other heroes to grow into the mantle of the OG superhero that Superman is known for.
Again, nothing official has been confirmed about this Legacy concept art, but seeing that it’s going to be a while before the film’s release, it’s the best fans can get in the meantime.
Superman: Legacy flies into theaters on July 11, 2025.
