Patty Jenkins was set to direct her own Star Wars movie with Rogue Squadron, but the film had been delayed indefinitely with no release date in site. Then recently, Jenkins was said to have walked off the Wonder Woman 3 movie.
Though things may be looking down for Jenkins and big film properties, Jenkins confirms one of her projects is still in the works.
In an official statement decrying all of the rumors that have been going on about her Wonder Woman 3 exit, Jenkins confirms that she has written a new deal with Lucasfilm, and that her Rogue Squadron movie is still in development. Here’s her post:

“Lucasfilm asked me to consider cming back to RS after WW3, which I was honored to do, so I agreed. They made a new deal with me. I fact, I am still on it and that project has been in active development ever since,” Jenkins wrote.
Though the project is still in development, Jenkins does iterate how this isn’t a sure deal that the movie will push forward. She continues, “I don’t know if it will happen or not. We never do until the development process is complee, but I look forward to its potential ahead.”
It’s kind of a shame that Jenkins won’t be able to finish a trilogy she seems to passionate about, but with the Wonder Woman door closing, I am hoping to see what Jenkins Rogue Squadron has to offer to the big screen. Fingers crossed she brings back Rey Skywalker.
No release date has been set for the release of Rogue Squadron.
