It’s been 10 years since Cartoon Network released their miniseries Over the Garden Wall, and while it didn’t have a long run, the show has become a cult classic.
Though a sequel may never happen (nor does it need to), Cartoon Network has announced a special celebration for the show’s 10th Anniversary, and they’ve collaborated with studio Aardman Animation for it. This was their post:

For context, Aardman is best known for their stop-motion work with properties like Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run. The studio isn’t really shy with collaborations, having done one recently for Lucasfilm with the second season of Star Wars: Visions.
It’s not clear what they want to bring to Over the Garden Wall, but based on the teaser, we could get the return of a stop-motion Greg and Wirt.
Just going back to Over the Garden Wall, the story focuses on two brother Wirt and Greg who find themselves lost in the forest of ‘The Unknown’, trying to find their way back home. Throughout their journey, Greg and Wirt run into all kinds of kooky creatures and people, but they have to be weary of a creature that they call ‘The Beast.’
The series has a very interesting vibe with its old-timey visuals and music, but besides the humor and soundtrack, the show can get incredibly dark and fans have argued for years about what the ending could really mean, or what the Unknown truly represents.
Admittedly, it’s kind of scary to think that someone could add to it without affecting the overall show, but with Aardman onboard, this could be a fun revisit of some genuinely great characters and an original fantasy world.
The anniversary celebration of Over the Garden Wall drops on Nov. 3
