Obi-Wan Kenobi Gets New Trailer on Star Wars Day

May the Fourth be with You! Fans online are currently celebrating Star Wars day, and Lucasfilm has decided to oblige them by releasing a new trailer for the highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Watch the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer down here:

While the trailer doesn’t have those sweet nostalgia-triggering musical cues from the first teaser, we do have a better look at all the other characters in the story—including some new ones like the one being played by Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals, Silicon Valley).

We also get another look at Rupert Friend’s High Inquisitor, and I can say that it actually doesn’t look as goofy as it did in the first teaser—I guess it really just was a matter of angling.

Despite the character of Obi-Wan said to have started doubting his connection to the Force, we can see that he is still very committed to the Jedi way and is telling Owen Lars that Luke needs to be trained. True to his character in A New Hope though, Lars doesn’t trust Obi-Wan, and would prefer that he stay away from his nephew.

The teaser doesn’t give us a full look at Vader either, but I think it’s all going to be worth it once he gets his big reveal in the actual show. Let’s hope we get a good idea on where Vader is mentally, seeing as we’ve yet to get a look at Vader in his prime when it comes to the films. It would be great contrast against Obi-Wan’s character arc, if you ask me.

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 27.
