A rumor had recently come out that Disney is working on a Mace Windu project starting Samuel L. Jackson, and now news has come out that another show is going to center on a character that Jackson plays.

According to Variety, Marvel is currently developing a series for Disney+ centered on the character of SHIELD director Nick Fury, and Jackson is attached to star in the show. We don’t really have any details on the plot, but it’s said Mr. Robot producer Kyle Bradstreet is going to write and executive produce the show.

While Nick Fury is a character that I don’t really think needs an origin, I’m curious what Marvel has in store that they would want to pursue the project. At 71-years-old, I don’t think Jackson would be too keen in starring in a series which is expected to have some action. At best, this could be a prequel that shows us Fury’s rise in SHIELD, or maybe it could be a drama with Fury trying to find the next head of SHIELD to replace him.

We don’t have any tentative release date for this Nick Fury series, but we do know that Marvel’s slate for Disney+ shows is pretty full for the next few years. At best, we could be looking at a debut in 2022. Hopefully we get an update before 2020 comes to a close.

Though we were expecting a debut of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier back in August, we’re now looking at WandaVision to kick off the Disney+ Marvel shows before the year ends.
