We know that Marvel and Star Wars films have a tendency to almost be shot exclusively on ‘The Volume’, but Transformers: Rise of the Beasts still manages to keep it old school with some good ‘ol-fashioned location shooting.
Just in, we have a new featurette looking into the production’s time in Peru. Check this out:
Though they did shoot some scenes in Peru, the film does promise to be a ‘globetrotting adventure’ so we should expect to see some more locations pop up in the movie. Looking back though, it does seem like the Transformers movies always have some huge location that they visit, like with Revenge of the Fallen going to the Pyramids of Giza (and completely wrecking it with a giant Contructicon).
For all the flak the Bay movies get, they always manage to deliver on spectacle, and hopefully director Steven Caple Jr. will manage to deliver. I’m just crossing my fingers we finally get Megatron back, because a Transformers film just doesn’t feel complete without a bumbling group of Decepticons going up against the Autobots.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new faction of Transformers – the Maximals – to join them as allies in the existing battle for earth.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts rolls out in theaters on June 9.
