The hype for Avatar: The Way of Water has come and gone, and while everyone is waiting for James Cameron’s next entry, Ubisoft has provided another journey into Pandora with their Avatar game.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is set to release this December, and we have a new story trailer highlighting a new protagonist. Check this out:
The story description reads:
Become Na’vi and explore the Western Frontier in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. You’ll play as a child of two worlds, born Na’vi but raised by the RDA. Fifteen years after your abduction, you are free, and must reconnect with your lost heritage. Meet new Na’vi clans, learn their ways, and join them to protect Pandora from the RDA.
While the original film focused on a fish out of water story with Jake Sully, it looks like the developers found a way to make an origin that’s pretty much the same, but instead of a human wanting to mingle, the main character is a Na’vi who has never connected with their roots.
It’s worth noting that the story takes place after the events of the first movie, so it’s possible we could be meeting some familiar faces from the world. I wouldn’t even mind any video recordings from Sigourney Weaver’s Dr. Grace Augustine.
If anything, the game looks fantastic, and should keep fans of Avatar engaged until the next movie releases.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is set to launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on Dec. 7.
