Marvel Commemorates 4th of July with New Photo from Captain America: Brave New World

Captain America: Brave New World may be undergoing extensive reshoots, but Marvel still does some promotion for the film now and again. With American independence day taking place this week, we have a new photo of Anthony Mackie as Captain America.

Check this out:

One interesting tidbit about the character of Captain America is that Steve Rogers was also born on July 4. Sam Wilson may be born around September, but he’s literally an ‘Uncle Sam’ as we discovered in Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

It’s unclear why Brave New World had to undergo extensive reshoots, but word was going around that the film wasn’t considered to be action-packed enough.

Rumor has it that the movie will have something to do with Thunderbolt Ross (Harrison Ford) trying to get Sam to play ball with the government unlike Steve Rogers did, and on a bigger scope, America is going to be fighting among other countries for the territory of the dead Celestial that burst out of the ocean back in Eternals. It’s said that it contains Adamantium—and seeing as how Vibranium was able to advance the cities of Wakanda and Talocan, the world superpowers will now be fighting over another new precious resource.

Also some merchandise has leaked that the Red Hulk will also be showing up in this series, but we don’t know exactly how he’s going to factor into the story. Most likely it would have something to do with the returning Hulk villain, The Leader (Tim Blake Nelson), but we’ll just have to wait and see what the film has in store.

Captain America: Brave New World releases Feb. 14, 2025.
