Not every new Overwatch hero gets a short, but with Juno being branded as the latest ‘waifu’ to enter the game, Blizzard has decided to mark her arrival with a new short.
Check out Control starring Juno:
Every journey starts somewhere.
Join Juno on her voyage to Future Earth in the newest Hero Trailer, ‘Control.’
The short essentially gives fans a look at Juno’s backstory and her personality. It’s been said that she had grown up on Mars, and it’s heavily hinted in the gameplay that she’s still getting used to being on Earth. As for the title of the short Control, it’s also been said that Juno suffers from anxiety, so they made that one of the main themes of her origin trailer.
In the game, Juno is considered to be a mobile attack healer, so she can float around the map while her gun either damages/heals whoever she’s shooting at.
I’ll admit, Overwatch has dropped some more high-quality trailers before , but this one is still pretty great when it comes to introducing a new character. With League of Legends beating out Overwatch for the acclaimed TV series adaptation with Arcane, fans are still hoping that Blizzard would give Tracer and the gang their much-deserved adaptation treatment—whether it be a series or a full-on movie.
Juno is now playable for Overwatch 2. The game is free-to-play on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
