Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny may not have made Star Wars numbers, but it was still a great film, and it was fun to watch Harrison Ford come back to one of his more famous characters.
Now Indy is set to make the jump to video games with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and thanks to the Xbox Games Showcase this year, we have a new look at what seems to be a classic Indy adventure. Check this out:
You are Indiana Jones. In this pivotal cinematic, Indy and Gina make a startling discovery in the Himalayas. Prepare for this single player adventure set between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.
With some considering Indiana Jones to be the thing that directly influenced the action-adventure platformer genre with games like Tomb Raider and Uncharted, The Great Circle decides to set itself apart from those games by giving us the FPS perspective.
We don’t know how much shooting is going to be in the game, but the trailers have suggested that there will be Indy’s signature whip as well as good ‘ol knuckles for punching Nazis in the face.
It has been discussed that maybe the reason Dial of Destiny didn’t do so hot was because the Indinana Jones fans have been an aging demographic, but maybe The Great Circle can reignite that fanbase and possibly bring in some new fans who would like to check out the original movies.
With all the bold directions that Great Circle is making, I’d love to see their big swing at this game and I hope they succeed.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is expected to launch for the Xbox Series X|S and PC sometime later this year.
