Writer Diablo Cody has been behind a lot of cult movies for Millenials including Jennifer’s Body and Juno, and now she’s coming back with another supernatural rom-com with Lisa Frankenstein.
The movie is set to come out February, and we have a new Lisa Frankenstein trailer starring Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) and Cole Sprouse (Riverdale). Watch this:

A coming of RAGE love story from acclaimed writer Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body) about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness… and a few missing body parts along the way.
It’s also worth noting that the movie is being directed by Zelda Williams (the daughter of the late Robin Williams), and this looks to be her first feature film. If you’ve seen Jennifer’s Body, you’ll know that Lisa Frankenstein looks like it’s in the same vein, what with the demented, rom-com elements.
That, and it also seems like Lisa Frankenstein is embracing the whole 80s aesthetic, complete with a soundtrack from The Cure. We don’t know how the film is going to fair in theaters, but this looks to be a fun alternate Valentine’s date for anyone looking for a romantic movie that’s out of the norm.
