A lot of fans didn’t think a solo Joker movie would work, but Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix managed to pull it off back in 2019. Now fans are awaiting a more musical sequel, and though we don’t have a teaser yet, Phillips has decided to share some new photos of Phoenix and his new co-star Lady Gaga.

We don’t have any context for any of the stills, but the first image does look like a shot of Arthur in Arkham Asylum. We’ve also seen images of Gaga in her Harley Quinn outfit before, but here she’s all clean cut but it’s Arthur who’s in the make-up. It looks like they’re in some kind of court scene, but it’s possible it could be somewhere in the asylum; maybe even a dream sequence.
With Joker set to release in October, we should expect some kind of teaser to come out soon. I would guess that WB would be ready to market the movie around June, but seeing that the first Joker was such a massive hit, they would probably want to start getting people excited around January.
Maybe they’re just waiting to distance their release from the last DCEU film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but at this point, I think DC fans will take anything just to get excited about the IP again after a poor year of the DCEU’s final breaths.
