One of the biggest and most anticipated scenes in The Little Mermaid is the remake of Ariel’s Part of Your World number, and so far, Disney has been teasing the sequence the most when it comes to the trailers.
Just in, we have a new clip of the Part of Your World number from the film, and it teases the size of Ariel’s undersea grotto. Check this out:
Maybe it’s just that I’m so used to Jodi Benson’s version of the song, but some of Halle Bailey’s deliveries kind of feel odd, with her solid musical vocals transitioning into smaller, spoken lines. Even if that was the case, you have to love when Bailey goes all out, as she has the same vocal range of Benson, and then some.
If anything, I wish that the trailers gave us more of Sebastian and Ursula’s numbers, but I guess they want to hold it all off for the actual film when it comes out.
The synopsis reads:
“The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.
The Little Mermaid swims into theaters on May 26.
