Just like he did with Avatar: The Last Airbender, Aaron Ehasz was set to introduce us to a whole new sprawling fantasy world with The Dragon Prince. While it looked like the show had been cut short with the third season, it looks like Ehasz has been given the chance to complete the story he was trying to tell.

According to a recent Comic-Con@Home panel, The Dragon Prince has been renewed for four more seasons by Netflix, and we’re expected to get the entire finished saga. Here’s the announcement from Twitter:

In last year’s SDCC (via Polygon), it was said that The Dragon Prince was set to feature 3 different eras, with the first one comprised of seasons 1–3, and the remaining two eras having two seasons each. We don’t have any titles for these upcoming chapters yet, but it has been said that the fourth book will be titled Earth.

While the show isn’t The Last Airbender, it certainly has a lot of potential. The world and lore is solid, and the characters are all very well-written, even the villains. If I had to have a gripe about Dragon Prince, it would definitely have to be the choice in animation. With Avatar being revered for its art style and solid action choreography, it was kind of jarring to walk in on the series and find it was CG-animated. Then again, I was hooked by the second episode, so it’s not really that bad.

We don’t have a release date for The Dragon Prince Season 4 yet, but you can catch the first three seasons now on Netflix.
