Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Moon Knight Confirmed for Big Screen After Disney+ Shows

While Marvel’s Disney+ shows will focus on familiar MCU characters like Loki, Scarlet Witch, and Falcon, we’re also getting some new characters in their own series with the likes of She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight. While some fans are bummed they won’t be introduced in their own films, Kevin Feige has confirmed that each hero is set to appear on the big screen after their Disney+ debut.

The Hollywood Reporter writes:

Feige is currently developing shows based around Ms. Marvel — the studio’s first Muslim hero — as well as She-Hulk and Moon Knight. All three will appear on the big screen after their Disney+ debuts, the exec confirms.

While I would have preferred big screen introductions for each of the heroes, I guess this is Marvel’s way of reducing risk when it comes to films about more obscure characters. Instead of spending a lot on distribution and marketing, Disney can gauge audience reaction with their steaming service. I mean, that’s basically the same mentality when it comes to these Phase 4 miniseries like WandaVision and Loki.

If anything, I hope these small shows can just get the origin stories out of the way, and pave the way for solo films. I would love for Ms. Marvel film where we go straight to the meat of the story rather than setting up another origin. It’s like how The Dark Knight is fun; Batman is already established as a character, and the fun of the story is how he handles the new threat.

We don’t have a release date for these upcoming Disney+ series, but it’s likely that Ms. Marvel could come out first. Disney+ launches on Nov. 12.
