Disney+’s Star Wars series have been hit and miss so far, and The Book of Boba Fett, while it did have its moments, was considered to be one of the poorer spinoffs on the streaming site. We don’t know if a season 2 is in the works yet, but star Temuera Morrison does give fans an update.
In an interview with Newshub (via SFFGazette), Morrison gives an update for the second season of The Book of Boba Fett, and it looks like it could be a while before we get back to Boba and his seat as Daimyo on Tatooine. Morrison admits:
“I don’t know what’s going on there… We’re coming out of this downtime period so I think everyone is just settling back in and it all goes back to budgets and what they want to do and how much the thing costs. I really don’t know. Judging by the fans I’ve met, they all want a season two, but I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
By the end of The Book of Boba Fett, we see Boba successfully defending his ‘throne’ and driving off any enemy forces that would have him off it. Besides Boba’s story, the series had also given audiences an update on Din Djarin the Mandalorian as well as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.
For now, it’s said that the Disney+ series are all building up to a clash with Grand Admiral Thrawn from Ahsoka, and it’s likely that all principal characters from the series like Din and Boba would be making an appearance; but as of now, it doesn’t seem clear what Lucasfilm has planned.
Should they go back to Boba though, I hope they tell a full story focused on him, because despite the popularity of Din, The Book of Boba Fett should really be just about Boba Fett.
