Broad City star Ilana Glazer may have went the horror pregnancy route with her 2021 film False Positive, but she’s now ready to go back to her comedy roots with the upcoming film Babes. Just in, we have a new trailer, and it features Glazer doing what she does best—doing drugs and getting laid.

BABES follows inseparable childhood best friends Eden (Ilana Glazer) and Dawn (Michelle Buteau), having grown up together in NYC, now firmly in different phases of adulthood. When carefree and single Eden decides to have a baby on her own after a one-night stand, their friendship faces its greatest challenge. BABES delves into the complexities of female friendship with a blend of laughter, tears, and labor pains.
As a Broad City fan, it is kind of disappointing to see Glazer not be alongside her co-star Abbi Jacobson, but she still has fantastic chemistry with Michelle Buteau. Besides that, it does look like we should expect all the kinds of irresponsibility that comes with a comedy brand that Glazer is known for.
Probably the last modern pregnancy comedy was Baby Mama starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler which came out back in 2008, but seeing as to how much we know about pregnancy and adulthood has changed over the decade, Babes should have something new and interesting to say about Millenials who are expecting.
Babes is set to come to cinemas on May 17.
