Miles Teller on the Next Fantastic Four, “I’m Excited for Them”

Way back in 2015, Miles Teller (Whiplash) was supposed to lead a new Fantastic Four team for Fox, but the film infamously bombed, and he never got to reprise Reed Richards again.

Flash forward to 2025 and Marvel Studios is set to revamp the characters for the MCU. While Teller won’t be involved with the movie, he does have this to say to the team of the next film (via THR):

“I’ve known Pedro [Pascal] for a couple of years, man I’m wishing them all the best… I don’t wish anybody to be a part of a bomb… I just wish them the best. I saw the little trailer and I thought it looked fantastic, I’m very excited for them.”

Teller’s Fant4stic came out back in 2015 and starred himself as Reed Richards, Kate Mara as Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm. There are probably multiple reasons why the film failed at the box office, but one of the most common problems cited is that of director Josh Trank who has somehow been chaotic throughout the process of making the movie (allegedly).

There’s also the case of Fox said to have been meddling with the original tone of the movie and demanding several (very glaring) reshoots.

For now, the new team consists of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It’s unclear if Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom is going to be making an appearance, but the main big bad for First Steps is going to be Galactus—and he won’t be a giant cloud this time.

Catch Fantastic Four: First Steps when it comes to cinemas on July 25.
