Dircetor Ti West has struck gold with his X films staring with X then Pearl, and now he’s set to end his trilogy with MaXXXine.
The film is set to release in theatres in July, and we have a new preview showcasing the star-studded cast led by Mia Goth. Check this out:
In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. However, as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Los Angeles, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.
With the first two films covering Mia Goth’s character’s obsession with beauty and fame, we’re expecting all of it to come together with MaXXXine. Now it looks like Maxine has her chance to be a really big Hollywood star, and as far as the ‘obsessed artist’ genre goes, she will likely do whatever she can to get her there.
Though the films have started out with relatively unknown cast, MaXXXine has more or less tripled the star power with actors like Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Halsey, Kevin Bacon, and Giancarlo Esposito.
The X franchise has been a cult hit for A24, and everyone has been having a ball watching Goth’s slow descent into madness throughout the first two films. We don’t know if Pearl will still have a presence in this third film, but we definitely know that she got to Maxine on a very deep level and we’re going to get to watch her unravel when she officially jumps into the industry.
