The Wicked movie has been getting some odd reputation online, from a poorly recreated poster to Cynthia Erivo becoming a meme; and now the toys are making the rounds online for a very poor misprint.
As fans have pointed out online, Mattel had accidentally placed a website address for the packaging for a porn site. The merch was supposed to have the address for wickedmovie.com, but instead, they just linked to wicked.com, a website which boasts ‘The Ultimate Destination for Award-Winning Adult Content’.

Though Mattel did screw up the website address on the packaging, the same can’t be said for other brands that decided to partner with Wicked. It’s been noted that the website on the LEGO packaging is the correct one, as well as the website linked on Betty Crocker packaging.

Funnily enough, Variety reports that the adult site has reported the highest surge in their visitors since the mid-2010s, and this is likely because of the mistake with the packaging. Mattel, however, is already aware of the screw-up, and has released a statement:
“Mattel was made aware of a misprint on the packaging of the Mattel ‘Wicked’ collection dolls, primarily sold in the U.S., which intended to direct consumers to the official WickedMovie.com landing page. We deeply regret this unfortunate error and are taking immediate action to remedy this.”
So far, Mattel isn’t saying that they’re going to recall the product with the misprint. Instead, they are just opting to message the parents and say that the wrong (adult) website is on the packaging and should get rid of it when they get the product. They are also advising that the link just be simply obscured—which shouldn’t be a problem for any retailer.
Watch out for Wicked when it releases in theatres on Nov. 21.
