Marvel Rivals hasn’t been shy about using some obscure characters, but there’s definitely a lot more to pick from when it comes to Marvel’s rich library of heroes and villains.
Season 1 belongs to the Fantastic Four, but a recent leak has confirmed some incoming X-Men fan favourites that should delight fans. According to @X0X_LEAK on Twitter:

The same leaker also confirms that Nightcrawler is also coming to the game as a Duelist as well as Beast—but it’s not yet clear on what kind of role he’s going to play in the game (possibly a mobile tank).
So far, the current playable X-Men in the game include Storm, Magik, Wolverine, Magneto, and Psylocke. Namor is also a mutant, but he’s really just more affiliated with his own kingdom than the X-Men.
Other leaked X-Men characters that fans have yet to get a look at include Emma Frost, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Professor X, Colossus, and Deadpool. That’s not even mentioning the rest of the leaked characters including MODOK, Hit-Monkey, Blade, and Paste Pot Pete—just to name a few.
It’s not clear when NetEase plans to release these heroes, but they have said that they plan to release a new playable hero every 1.5 months. With that in mind, they probably have a couple of years of incoming content to work on; hopefully they manage to keep the game’s quality up with all the heroes expected to come in.
Then again, even League of Legends has managed to amass over 150 playable characters, and they seem to be doing fine.
Marvel Rivals is now playable for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
