The post-credits scene for Avengers: Infinity War teased the arrival of Captain Marvel, and five months later, we finally have our first look at the film courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.

What’s interesting is, the movie would start out with Carol Danvers already having powers; in the film, she had already left Earth behind to train in an elite Kree military group called Starforce lead by Jude Law’s character. Carol will then find herself coming back to Earth to stop a Skrull invasion being lead by Talos (Ben Mendelsohn).
This is just my guess, but I think Carol leaves the Earth at some point in the 80s, and comes back in the 90s to deal with the Skrull threat. There she’ll run into Nick Fury, who is still a desk jockey at SHIELD. It’s also been confirmed that Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) will be making a comeback in this movie as well.
After 10 years of the MCU, Marvel Studios is finally pushing forward with their female-lead superhero movie. DC broke barriers when they released Wonder Woman last year, and Marvel is crossing their fingers that Captain Marvel will make her own mark in pop-culture once her movie comes out.
