Marvel Studios Allegedly Wants Jonathan Majors Back to Close the Kang Story

It looks like Jonathan Majors is slowly crawling his way out of ‘cancel jail.’ After the trailer dropped for his drama Magazine Dreams, a new rumor is coming out that Marvel Studios may want to have one last round with Majors to close the storyline for Kang the Conqueror.

According to ScreenGeek, Marvel head Kevin Feige is looking to bring Majors back for a future project just to tie up any loose ends. They write:

According to our sources, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is considering bringing Jonathan Majors back into the MCU. The idea is for Majors to appear in a future Marvel project to wrap up some loose ends with Kang and close the character’s story.

So far, nothing official has been confirmed, but this does seem like a good move for Marvel, seeing that a lot of people were already invested in the Kang storyline they were building up, and the disappointment was clear online when it was announced that Kang Dynasty was being retooled as Avengers: Doomsday.

There were actually calls to recast Kang after Majors got the guilty verdict, but those ultimately went nowhere as Marvel announced that Robert Downey Jr. was going to play Doctor Doom.

As someone who was up for the recast, I would want Marvel to just tie up any loose ends with Kang. They’ve spent years hyping the character up, and it was such a shame that we never got to see him actually clash with the Avengers.

We don’t know what Marvel has planned for Majors, but I just want to see the arc closed properly after all this build-up.

The next Avengers movie, Doomsday, is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
