Though Deadpool’s arrival in the MCU is already underway, it looks like Ryan Reynolds will be teaming up with an MCU star for his next project with director Shawn Levy for The Adam Project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Ruffalo will be teaming up with Reynolds for a film called The Adam Project. The movie has Reynolds playing a man who goes back in time in search of his 13-year-old self. Together, they try to stop the death of their late father, a ‘brilliant physicist’ who is played by Ruffalo.

Other members of the cast include Catherine Keener (Get Out) who is said to play the villain of the film. The movie also includes Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Ruffalo’s 13 Going on 30 co-star Jennifer Garner. Newcomer Walker Scobell will also be playing the part of a young Reynolds.

The movie sounds like a good bit of PG fun. If anything, Shawn Levy has proven himself as this generation’s Chris Colombus, what with family friendly flicks like Night at the Museum and Netflix’s mega hit Stranger Things. I have no doubt that he’ll manage to dazzle the whole family with a film like The Adam Project.

The film had actually started rolling cameras in Vancouver last week, so I’m guessing a release would be set sometime in late 2021. In the meantime, you should watch out for Reynolds’ and Levy’s latest collaboration, Free Guy, which comes out Dec. 10, 2020.
